The vines grow on well drained, calcareous clay soils near Gevrey Chambertin. After selective hand harvesting, the grapes are fermented partly as whole clusters, with gentle extraction and slow, spontaneous fermentation. Aging takes place predominantly in used barriques with a small proportion of new oak. Dark ruby red with a purple rim. Youthful,
